The Comal ISD fine arts department was awarded the Texas Thespians Premier Communities for Theatre Education 2023-2024 Award for the second year in a row.

Comal ISD Council of PTAs has advanced 22 Reflections entries to the Texas PTA state-level competition in six categories including dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.

On the 10th anniversary of the Comal Shake competition, a fifth-grade student from Goodwin Frazier Elementary was named the champion after the final round.

The robotics team from Hill Country College Preparatory High School placed fourth in the UIL State Championship - BEST Robotics in its third consecutive year to advance in the state-wide competition.

Two Comal ISD artists were among the top 25 finalists for the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Western Art Contest this year which had more than 600 entries.

Students and staff members throughout Comal ISD spread some holiday joy to those in need this season by making their wishes come true with toys, food and more.

For the second year in a row, a Comal ISD art student received the title of Champion in the sculpture category for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Western Art Contest and received a $10,000 scholarship. This year's winner is Madeleine 'Madz" Patten from Hill Country College Preparatory High School.

Comal ISD has announced Shane Land as the principal for its newest middle school campus, Bulverde Middle School, which opens in August 2024.

This year marked the first year for Comal ISD to host a Christmas Card Contest. Winners in three categories, elementary, middle and high school, were announced with surprise campus visits to Goodwin Fraizer Elementary, Church Hill Middle and Davenport High School.

A student from each campus has been selected as the Superintendent Student of the 3rd Nine Weeks. These students serve as a role models and demonstrate character traits such as integrity, respect, responsibility and perseverance.
