TO THE PARENTS OF 8TH GRADE STUDENTS:

 

Did you know Comal ISD has an early college high school?

 

Memorial Early College High School (MECHS) partners with  St. Philip's College to provide students with the opportunity to not only earn college credit at the same time as their high school diploma, but the opportunity to learn in a unique environment. With enrollment at less than 400, students are provided with a more personalized education and support in becoming college and career ready.

 

MECHS students will start obtaining college level credit via dual credit classes starting their 9th grade year. They will be given the opportunity to earn an Associate Degree at NO COST by the time they graduate high school, up to 60 college hours. Those hours have the potential to be transferred to a 4-year university, giving MECHS graduates a jump start on a Baccalaureate degree.
