June 18, 2024 - Comal ISD baseball and softball standouts have been selected to play in all-star games including three area matches and a state contest.
In baseball, the Senior Celebration All Star Game took place on May 21 at Wolf Stadium in San Antonio with the following Comal ISD students participating:
- MJ Espinoza, Smithson Valley High School
- Zach Gingrich, Smithson Valley High School
- Brayden Mulkey, Davenport High School
- Colin Ott, Canyon High School
- Luke Roskin, Canyon Lake High School
- Gary Torres Jr., Davenport High School
- Hugh White, Canyon High School
The San Antonio Area Baseball Coaches Association Senior All Star Baseball Game took place on June 1 at Tejeda Complex in San Antonio with the following Comal ISD students participating:
- Jackson Harris, SVHS
- Ethan Rust, DHS
- Gary Torres Jr., DHS
The Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All Star Game took place Saturday, June 16, at Dell Diamond. The following students were selected to participate:
- Zach Gingrich, SVHS
- Brayden Mulkey, DHS
High school baseball coaches for these players include Nick Kozole, CHS; Victor Escamilla, CLHS; Dennis Schlueter, DHS; and Chad Koehl, SVHS.
Softball All-Stars
In softball, six athletes played in the 24th Annual Austin Area All Star game on June 5 at Dripping Springs High School. Every year, the most talented high school seniors in Central Texas compete in this event.
This year, Canyon Lake High School head softball coach Hayley Galloway served as an assistant coach for the South team. The Smithson Valley High School head softball coach is Amanda Wolf, and the Canyon High School head softball coach is Kevin Randle.
